The Rose is created out of an Illinois license plate found left-for-dead on Belmont Avenue in Chicago during The Summer of '22. From the looks of things, it was there for a while, but since it's aluminum, weathered the storms well. Pounded down the numbers & letters, intricately cut out each "level" of The Rose, filing the rough edges, drilling each piece to accept the Holy Stem, a few more hours cleaning up some ANCIENT barbwire found in the mountains of Cortez Colorado, and bringing it all together into The Rose. The vase is filled with multi-colored LAYERS of "sea glass" from beaches stretching up and down Lake Shore Drive. Over 20 hours into this one. Gift for a lifetime. Joyous occasion.
