Description
Cocoa-Butter Got 2 Teddy Bear Hamsters. One is Cocoa (the one with white spots), she has a sister named Butter (the one with golden fur), but we are moving away and they need a new home. Giving Cocoa with her cage and stuff and food and fluff bag for $40, same for Butter $40. C/txt 4o2-8I3-82S3 Cocoa: Unlike Butter, Cocoa is less agitated. She never bit me or my kids in the whole year we spent together. Cocoa thinks she is Alpha, might have a little trouble breeding her but not impossible. I got Cocoa in taller metal cage, with a rainbow colored ladder. She likes to climb up and down, but sleeps mostly in her little house. She seems a little bigger than Butter. Butter: She never bit my kids either. She bit me only once because she is an Escape Artist and the first time I found her out of her cage I startled her. Butter is more easily startled than her sister when close to unknown smells and sounds, will also bite other hamsters to protect herself. Butter is in a clear tote, but she also has a metal bar cage. I thought tote was better cuz it has more space and easier to clean. Got to be careful not to put too much fluff under the water bottle cuz Butter likes to climb on it and escape. Teddy bear hamsters can last 2-4 years if taken care of properly. They are TERRITORIAL. Cannot put them both in same cage or they will try to kill each other if not raised together from birth, and even then they still do sometimes. Food: They love to eat Kaytee Fiesta. They eat pellets too, but they rather not unless they are really hungry and will lose some weight that way. They love raw veggies like broccoli, carrots, and lettuce, I give them some once or twice a week. No wet veggies, no fruits. Dried fruit in small quantities is ok (fiesta has some I think). Right now they are big and healthy. Once they get used to your smell and notice you are the boss who feeds them, they become sweethearts (less agitated). I always wash my hands before and after picking them up to keep them healthy. Also, weird smells could startle them (like the smell of each other)
