I’ve decided to take a big risk. I’m going to quit my job and pursue music full time. (OMG how cliché!!!) This is terrifying, seeing that I am 36 and have a 6 yr old; but I simply cannot see myself sitting at this desk for much longer; so I am going to borrow the arrogance I don’t possess, trust the hard work I’ve put in on my instrument over the last 20 years, and step out into the WHAT IF. I’m looking for a very specific subset of people who are going to identify the energy in this post, and just know that they want to meet me and see if we have any musical chemistry. Perhaps you end up quitting your job as well; or perhaps you’re a bit younger and don’t have the mid-life responsibilities tying you down yet. But, I’m looking for those of you hungry for the music, for the pursuit, and willing to balance out the complicated task of not selling your soul for money, but as the same time, intentionally pursing gigs that pay. I’m looking for guys or girls who are confident in their musical ability, but willing to start grinding out the hours daily/weekly, to turn music from a hobby to a lifestyle.
