Description
Hi all!
I am thinking of and planning on opening a forest preschool in the Berkshire community. The curriculum is inspired by the Cedarsong way and emphasizes the importance of land stewardship and child led learning. I am reaching out to see if this type of school community would be interesting and desired by families with young children. I would be able to take 6 children per a year ages 2.5-5 The preschool would offer half days or full days of nature immersion with a yurt classroom. The yurt would be situated on 60 acres of land for the children to explore! There will also be a biodynamic garden for the students to help out in!
I have 12 years of experience in childcare and 8 in teaching. My background is mostly in farm to school education with experience teaching ages 2-15. I am currently a garden educator at a Waldorf school where I teach second through eight grade. I hold a bachelors degree from Lesley University and have forest schooling certificates.
The school would ideally start in the fall and run for the full year. If this is something you think would be successful in our community please let me know! The school would be located in Mill River, MA and hopefully would draw students from the local MA and CT towns.
