Pergola Management is seeking a full-time maintenance technician to join our team at an apartment community in Rochester, MN. Our company culture is customer service oriented because our residents rely on us to be quick and thorough when we respond to their requests. Requires no prior maintenance experience, however preference will be given to applicants with two or more years general experience in residential maintenance or handy-man work ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: · Ability to fix and troubleshoot the types of maintenance issues that arise in a home / apartment. Example: Minor plumbing; minor electrical; heating systems; appliances; fixing locks and hardware · Complete all service requests in a timely manner · Conduct the work needed to turnover an apartment after a resident moves out, general painting of apartments · Assist with inspect the properties and grounds on a regular basis to assist with grounds keeping and snow removal · Willingness to work in both inside and outside (if needed). · Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation for 24-hour emergencies, if needed. QUALIFICATIONS: · ~ High school diploma or GED. · ~ Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. · ~ Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. · ~ Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record · Pass an industry standard criminal background check for access to occupied apartments · Ability to use to app-based software on smartphone PHYSICAL DEMANDS: 1) The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 30 pounds, and occasionally lift up to 50 and more than 100 pounds 2) The employee is regularly required to: stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; climb stairs; stoop; kneel, crouch, or crawl in tight spaces at times COMPENSATION: · $20 to $35/hour (depending on experience) based on a 40 hour week + additional overtime for on-call work · Participation in company benefits such as a 401k retirement plan, with employer matching contribution up to 5% · Paid Vacation Time · Paid Holidays
