Vocalist Seeking Band
Meets
New York City NY
Description
Hello! I am Fry! I’m a singer/dancer/songwriter based in NYC who’s looking for performance opportunities with bands/venues/productions that are seeking vocalists and performers. I have years of experience fronting bands and acting in musicals, and my schedule is extremely flexible. I can be as creatively involved or as mercenary as you need me to be, and payment (if any) can be discussed based on what the situation is. I’ve added more details about myself and links to some of my previous work below. If you’d be interested in working together and/or think I’d be a good fit for your project, feel free to reply to this ad via email or DM me on Instagram. I’m open to answering any questions you may have, and I usually respond pretty quickly. Ideally, you would also have some recordings or demos of your own to give me an idea of what your musical sound/identity is. I have a very eclectic taste in music, and I’m very open-minded creatively as long as I enjoy the process and output. I look forward to hearing from you! ABOUT ME: Music Link: https://open.spotify.com/album/22NEltLYZGt6PzLxtIdyXt (This is from a rock band that I fronted for. I sing lead on the EPs Creatures and Work Harder, Comrade!, and I wrote all of the lyrics and vocal melodies for the EPs Creatures and EDM, except for the songs “Fly Away” and “Ode to Edward J. Smith”.) Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/musicalfry/ Preferred Musical Genres: pop, rock, R&B, funk, disco, almost anything “dance-y” Biggest Musical Inspirations: Queen, Jamiroquai, Failure, Janelle Monae, Mariah Carey, Carly Rae Jepsen, Alice in Chains, Kylie Minogue, Portishead Non-Musical Hobbies: video games, drawing, movies, cartoons, Dungeons and Dragons, anime, internet videos, drag shows (televised and live) Random Side Notes: -Unless I’m acting in a musical, my performance style for live shows tends to be very dance-y and flamboyant. If there’s an opportunity for choreography or a fun costume, I will usually take it. -If you’re a band that needs to fill time in a set and doesn’t want to overuse covers, I have various original songs from both my solo stuff and from previous projects/bands that you are welcome to use. -I have connections in NYC with some performance spaces and other bands/musicians. I’ve booked full nights for a few venues, and I know I can draw and keep a crowd even when performing solo.
