Description
Medical College of Wisconsin investigators are conducting a study to see how gut microbiome across different races affects resting metabolic rate (calories burned at rest). Investigators are looking to recruit African Americans at this time.
This study includes -
• Answer questions about health history and lifestyle
• Providing blood, urine, and stool samples
• Resting metabolic rate measurement
• Measurement of total body fat and lean body mass via DEXA scan
• Time commitment of 2 visits (1-3 hr each visit)
Study participants must meet certain requirements to be in this research study. If you do not meet the requirements, the study staff can tell you why.
• Ages 18 to 50 years of age
• African American Women
• Premenopausal Females only
• In good health (no hypertension, no diabetes, non-smoker, no hormonal conditions)
Where:
• Adult Translation Research Unit (Froedtert Pavilion, Froedtert Hospital)
