THE CITY OF FREDERICK CLUSTERED SPIRES GOLF CLUV JOB ANNOUNCEMENT TITLE: Golf Course Helper JOB SUMMARY At the City of Frederick’s Clustered Spires Golf Club, we are dedicated to making every visit by the public an enjoyable one. As a Golf Course Helper your first role is to provide excellent friendly and knowledgeable service to the public by maintaining the Golf Course grounds. Reporting to the Golf Course Superintendent, the Helper position is a seasonal part-time position requiring teamwork, motivation and flexibility. You will have frequent interaction with the general public in a dynamic setting. The role involves outside maintenance activities, including (and not limited to) weeding, mowing, maintaining flower beds, and trash removal. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Daily raking of sand bunkers - Weed eating trees and other areas around the golf course - Filling divots in fairways and tees - Trash removal on the course and around the Pro Shop - Maintaining flower beds - Mowing - Fertilizing - Watering - Other duties as assigned - QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE - Equal Opportunity Employer - High School Diploma or GED or experience in lieu of education - Strong customer service experience REQUIRED CERTIFICATES AND/OR LICENSES - Valid driver’s license OTHER DESIRABLES - Landscape knowledge - Previous work experience in a golf course setting - Knowledge of the sport of golf SKILLS - Ability to understand and speak basic English - Ability to operate different equipment and hand tools - Strong team player - Great attitude/high degree of motivation PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative if those that must be met by the incumbent to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
