The Arboretum includes a California native plant garden and specializes in plant collections from Australia, New Zealand, and South Africa. The Arboretum can attract a variety of wintering raptors and sparrows. As we are visiting on the first Tuesday of the month (Community Day), the admission fee is waived. Restrooms are located at several locations in the Arboretum. Directions: Approaching Santa Cruz from the north on SR 1, turn left on Bay Street (there is a traffic light), and proceed east. Turn left at the High St. traffic light at the base of campus (don't go in the main entrance). Stay on High Street for approximately 1/2 mile, the entrance to the Garden is to your right. 1490 High Street is an approximate location.
