House rabbit seeks new home

Description

This healthy, neutered 16-month-old male Holland Lop seeks a friendly new home with an owner happy to interact with him at ground level, since like most rabbits, he prefers to hang out together on the floor rather than being picked up. He is used to free-roaming a spare room and enjoys happily hopping over to greet people bringing him treats. He is completely litterbox trained for pee and, like many rabbits, leaves some poop around his area to mark his territory. If you sit on the floor near him, he happily hops over hoping for a treat. He does not like to be grabbed and snuggled. He communicates annoyance at being picked up by thumping when put back down. He'd do well with a patient person willing give him time to gradually adjust to his new environment and owner. He is easy to care for and used to unlimited timothy hay and fresh water, with 1-2 small daily helpings of rabbit pellets and veggie scrap treats. He is used to kids, dogs, and other rabbits and would be a best companion to a mature owner who respects that, like most rabbits, he prefers to interact at floor level. He is fixed and also a good candidate to try bonding with another fixed rabbit, as he has done well in the company of our fixed female rabbit. If interested in learning more about him or potentially adopting him, please tell us a bit about yourself and the space he'd have at your home. He is free to a good home with his supplies in exchange for a $50 donation to an animal shelter or rescue group.
