Participants are assigned a life scenario complete with career, income, debt and insurance payments....Even a spouse/partner and child. Their challenge is to purchase housing, transportation, food, clothing, child care needs and other necessities without running out of money. It's the financial "wake-up call" every teen needs!

Are there ID or minimum age requirements to enter the event?
The event is limited to participants 14*-19 years of age. *Younger teens may be unfamiliar with some of the financial concepts covered in this activity. Parents/guardians are welcome to pair up with teens for the activity to help explain concepts they may be unfamiliar with. (Registration fee is for teen participant only; one parent may attend with each teen participant at no charge.)

Can I help as a volunteer?
YES! We welcome the help of parents and community residents. Volunteers play the role of "merchants" in Mad City at one of the ten merchant tables selling simulated goods & services to the participants. CLICK HERE to sign up as a volunteer for this event. Instructions and a training video will be provided.

What is the registration fee for?
Registration fees go towards the cost of facilitating the event, including participant materials, giveaways, and staffing expenses.

What's the refund policy?
Refunds will be issued on or before January 26, 2023. We will be unable to issue refunds for registrations cancelled after that date.

Is my registration fee/ticket transferable?
A ticket may be transferred to another teen participant age 14-19 by emailing the event organizer at [email protected]. Please include the name of the original registrant along with the name and email of the teen who will be using the ticket instead.
