Morning RambleHave you ever been on a hike and wondered about the story of the place and how it came to be? Join us on a Morning Ramble to explore all of your nature curiosities and discover your surroundings. Local naturalists will lead interpretive nature hikes on some of the most popular trails in the Prescott area. Leaders will explore topics ranging from geology to plants, animals, and the timing of nature events, and each hike will impart a broad view of natural history to help you connect with the wonder of the world around us. Immerse yourself in nature on a Morning Ramble! General Information: Cost: All hikes are FREE, but registration is required Time: Check each location below for the start time. Location and length vary. See the below dates for more details. Group size is limited to 10 participants; please register all guests. No dogs. Children are welcome with a parent/guardian. Be prepared for all types of weather— hikes will occur rain or shine, unless conditions become dangerous. Parking fee: None Hike length: 2 Hours Difficulty rating: Easy Theme: General Nature Natural History Institute (NHI) is a nonprofit in Prescott, AZ, whose mission is to connect people with nature, improve their well-being and learn to steward the natural world. NHI offers a variety of public programs featuring talks, webinars, and field excursions. Our science initiative documents the rich flora and fauna of the Mogollon Highlands Ecoregion. GEM Corps (GEM) is a scientific non-profit headquartered in Prescott, Arizona that works with government agencies to conserve public lands while connecting STEM students to integrated and collaborative educational programming through workforce development, service learning, scholarship, and experiential learning.
