Works as part of an established team to deliver a high standard of customer service in the following areas: Boat Rental, Live Bait, Fuel Dock and Transient Dockage. • Reports directly to Waterfront Staff Manager or Team Lead. • Takes Rental Boat Reservations (learns reservation system, answers phones, checks voicemail box frequently • Passes and maintains State of FL Livery Operators Training Course • Greets Rental Boat Customers and ensures proper contract & waivers are signed • Verify boat operators age and need for a boat safety card, if education is needed conducts the State of Florida boater safety temporary certificate test • Rental Boat Checkout: Instructs customer on safe operation of rental boat and local boating knowledge, make sure checkout form and waiver are properly filled out, showing customers the boat is fully fueled and the propeller is intact (noting any minor damage), point out safety gear, explain VHF radio, perform radio check, verify customer has all needed supplies before leaving dock (ice, bait, rods, cooler…), all safety gear is on board, explain navigation rules and points of interest. • Adds all additional purchases onto rental reservation. • Rental Return: Safely direct and assist rental boats onto our dock, assist customers off loading boats, safely fuel every boat upon return, ensure propeller is not damaged (if damaged contact Manager on Duty), make sure motor is pumping water, evaluate boat for obvious new damage (report any new damage immediately), rinse boat with water, wash if needed, make sure boat is ready for next rental, safely return boat to its slip and secure. • Rental Boat Maintenance: Starting boats daily (reporting any problems to manager on duty), placing boats out of service and /or making a repair in a timely fashion, drying dew off rental boats, cleaning boats so that they are presentable to customers (including bimini tops), ensuring all U.S.C.G safety gear is in place and in date, check anchor for repair /replacement, maintain an orderly spare parts storage area, check inventory levels for USCG equipment, batteries, oil, propellers • Live Bait: Sells live shrimp. Maintain a clean bait tank, disassemble as needed to clean (including intake pipes), discard or bag dead shrimp (if in good condition) to sell as frozen bait, maintain an accurate count of shrimp given to each customer, maintain clean work area • Garbage: Empty as needed into appropriate dumpster (recycling or trash). Operate utility cart/golf cart. • Maintain utility carts for cleanliness and appearance. • Assist Dockmaster by maintaining clean docks (bird droppings, kinked hoses, leaking/broken hoses, knotted and frayed dock lines, assist owners with fueling their vessels, pump out, filling fresh water tanks, tying boats to cleats properly, assist with shore power hook up • Shuttle customers to/from docks via golf cart. Assist customers with bags/gear if necessary. • Assist other marina departments as needed. • Other duties as assigned. • Heavy lifting up to 80 pounds, bending, pulling, standing • Must work in extremes of weather
