Do you want to get into Web Development or Software Development but you don’t have an IT education, training or any IT experience? Do you have some experience with programming and want to deepen your understanding? If so then our program may be your best chance. We are a Non-profit company seeking IT candidates to go through our free IT education program. The candidates will gain valuable education in Web Development and Software Development while we work to improve our education programs. A sample of topics we cover and technologies we work with • Website hosting and system administration • Content Management Systems (CMS) e.g. Drupal, Joomla, Wordpress • Web Development using a CMS, Drupal • Drupal installation and management • PHP based frameworks, e.g. Laravel and Symfony • Web and Software development using PHP • Front-end overview with Javascript, JQuery and CSS • Database integration using MySQL and/or MariaDB • Database manipulation using SQL • Cross-site communication using REST API • Security best practices We will cover much, much more but we hope this sample will suffice to help you understand the depth and breadth of the education you’ll receive. What you need • Be a dedicated and self-motivated learner • Be able to continue progress by learning independently outside of meetings • Be able to commit to online meeting times • Be willing to provide feedback on ways of improving the program You will get first-hand, real-world experience by working on real projects and get a chance to work with real companies. The goal is for you to be able to include on-the-job IT experience on your resume. There are possibilities for future employment for exceptional candidates that have successfully completed the program. (Note that this is not a guarantee of employment after the program.) Future programs will include mobile app development using both Android and iOS. Space is extremely limited and you need to demonstrate a desire to learn and grow to be part of the program.
