Antique Gas Stove repair needed!

Hello. I have a beautiful old Hardwick brand Stove that was manufactured 50s. the brand was bought by whirlpool from what I can find online but I am having a hard time finding anyone who will come and replace the part that is keeping the oven from heating. I've spoken to multiple appliance repair shops with no avail but they assure me that these things are build to last forever and mostly parts were always interchangable back then.. from others help I think I have found the part that is needed but i'm weary to order before I have someone who is comfortable working with gas, that can tell me that the "oven saftey" is actually what needs to be replaced... the burners work great and I really dont want to get rid of it until i've exhausted all of my options. the Pilot lights all work and the top burners work beautifully. If anyone could help I would be happy to chat.
