The first speaker, Dr. Ekaterina Urch, is a sports medicine physician at The Center who will discuss common causes of shoulder pain in female athletes and strategies for prevention and treatment. The second speaker, nutrition and strength coach, Abbi Hamlin will delve into the unique nutritional needs of female athletes and provide practical tips for optimizing performance through proper fuel and hydration. Finally, physical therapist, Laura Cooper will offer guidance on how to properly care for and rehab shoulder injuries to ensure a full and speedy recovery. SPEAKERS Dr. Ekaterina Urch | Orthopedic Surgeon | The Center Dr. Ekaterina Urch is a fellowship-trained and board-certified sports medicine physician with a passion for helping patients overcome injury to live an active and healthy life. From her experience as a collegiate volleyball player, she understands firsthand the frustration and stress that injury can cause. Dr. Urch treats patients of all ages with diverse orthopedic injuries. She specializes in injuries and conditions of the knee and shoulder, with a particular interest in women’s health and caring for female athletes and other active women. Laura Cooper | PT, DPT | Therapeutic Associates Laura received her Bachelor of Science from the University of Oregon and Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Montana. Laura’s clinical focus is sports medicine, general orthopedics, therapeutic yoga, Women’s Health, and post-mastectomy/breast cancer rehab. She has manual physical therapy training through the North American Institute of Manual Therapy and has advanced skills in treating pre- and post-partum, as well as other women’s health issues. Abbi Hamlin | Nutrition and Strength Coach | Boss Performance | Wildly Well Abbi is a certified personal trainer and nutritionist through National Academy of Sports Medicine. She is on a mission to help every woman feel empowered in the outdoors. She hopes to inspire women to pursue their goals fearlessly, to live life to the fullest, and find peace through health and wellness.
