On Monday, February 6th at 7 PM, Beth Macy, author of "Raising Lazarus" and "Dopesick," will join a panel of local community leaders including Ann Gardner, Alleghany County commonwealth's attorney and drug court advocate; Ingrid Barber, executive director of the Highlands County Community Services Board; and Lee Higginbotham, CEO of Lewis Gale Alleghany Hospital, to discuss the impact of opioids on the workforce in Southwest and Southside Virginia and the role employers can play in recovery.
The event, held at the Clifton Forge Historic Masonic Theatre, is the fourth in the Cardinal News Speaker Series, which brings together leaders and authorities to talk about topics important to a community's economy.
