This Women’s History Month, hear from the voices of women who are inspiring a new generation of female composers in the world of classical music. The first half of the concert, Sing Her Song celebrates the choral repertoire of contemporary female composers including Caroline Shaw’s hauntingly beautiful And the Swallow and Elaine Hageberg’s majestic Alleluia. The second half of the program will feature works that are MSVA favorites including Eric Whitacre’s masterpiece, Leonardo Dreams of His Flying Machine. The concert will include a short intermission and the first half of the concert will be conducted by finalist for the MSVA conductor position, David Mann. MSVA's current artistic director, Dr. Erik Jones will conduct the second half of the program.
