Situated in central Italy, viticulture in Tuscany can be traced back to the 8th century BC. From the Roman Empire and throughout the middle ages, monasteries were the main purveyors of wines in the region.
One of the most important Italian wine grapes, Sangiovese, accounts for two thirds of all vineyard plantings and 85 percent of red wine volume in the region. The Chianti area is Tuscany's largest classified wine region, producing over 8 million cases a year!
Join us to taste, learn, & enjoy several wines from this region in our January education class!
