Description

It is no secret that free speech on college campuses is under attack. Students and professors alike experience pressure to either avoid or hyperfocus on controversial topics with limited room for honest and rigorous debate. What does this tell us about the future of Western civilization? Is the university no longer a marketplace of ideas, questions, argument, and discovery? If not, where are the alternative forums today? Where do we go from here? Join bestselling author, “Uncanceled History” podcast host, and associate editor of The Spectator, Douglas Murray, in the Old Main building’s Leonard Auditorium to discuss this and more with Wofford students on February 22, 2023, from 4:00 P.M. - 5:00 P.M. This event is open to the community. For information about the private reception or sponsorship opportunities, please reach out to Dr. Christine Emery at [email protected]. Speaker Bio: Douglas Murray is an associate editor of The Spectator, author of The War on the West, and host of a new podcast series "Uncanceled History". His previous book The Madness of Crowds was a bestseller and a book of the year for The Times and The Sunday Times, while his book The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam spent almost twenty weeks on The Sunday Times bestseller list and was a number one bestseller in nonfiction.
