Wine & Nine at X-Golf Huntsville is North Alabama's newest social event that is truly one-of-a-kind. Play in a scramble on championship courses around the world and enjoy a bottle of premium wine from the same region while enjoying a full spread of charcuterie curated with the course, landscape, and wine in mind. On January 11th, our first Wine & Nine of 2023 returns to the California coast to Spyglass Hill, home of the AT&T Pro-Am held every February since 1967. Golf Digest has voted Spyglass Hill as high as fifth on its list of “America’s 100 Great Public Courses.” Spyglass Hill was designed by Robert Trent Jones and operates under the umbrella of Pebble Beach Company, with Pebble Beach, The Links at Spanish Bay, and Del Monte Golf Course as sister courses - three of which are available to play anytime at X-Golf Huntsville. Originally Pebble Beach Pines Golf Club, Spyglass Hill was renamed by its founder, Samuel F.B. Morse, after inspiration from the novel, Treasure Island, by Robert Louis Stevenson who had spent time in Monterey. Every hole at Spyglass Hill is named after a character or location from the novel. The first five holes give breathtaking views of the Pacific Ocean, with #4, Blind Pew, being famously known as RTJ’s favorite par four he ever designed. Holman Ranch Vineyards is our featured wine and located only eighteen miles away from Spyglass Hill in Carmel Valley. Exclusively sold in California and Alabama, Holman Ranch is consistently in the conversation as one of the best Californian wines available considering how it is produced, with handpicked fruit that grows in a cool climate without pesticides. Holman Ranch is known for their small batches of Three Brothers Pinot Noir and Estate Chardonnay, and only 740 cases between the two are made each year. Both will be on the wine rack for our guests to enjoy.
