HVAC Driver/Runner

The Metro Group, Inc., located in Long Island City, NY is currently looking for a Runner for their HVAC Installation Division. This is a full-time, union-track position with full benefits. This role functions in delivering equipment and materials to our project sites in the NYC area as well as helping to receive and organize materials in our warehouse and assisting the installation crews in the field, as needed. Qualifications include: • General knowledge of, or ability to quickly learn, HVAC parts and materials • Strong organization and problem-solving skills • Excellent communication skills • Capable of taking direction • Agreeable and self-motivated attitude, able to take initiative • Able to work and adapt in a flexible, high-paced work environment • Enthusiastic in taking on assignments and responsibilities, willingness to learn • Detail oriented, taking pride in work with a focus on quality • Capable of working in a professional environment and providing great customer service • Willingness to adhere to company policies and procedures • Ability to meet physical requirements of position • Available for overtime • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Driving record will be reviewed prior to an offer being made • High school diploma or GED • Basic experience with HVAC systems is a plus Applicable industry training and certifications are preferred but not required: OSHA 30, EPA 608 Certified, F60, etc. Please note training and certifications on your resume when applying. Additional responsibilities will include: • Driving a company vehicle • Lifting tools, materials, and equipment • Performing other miscellaneous tasks to support the operation, when needed. For example, assisting on job sites. Full vaccination against COVID-19 is required at hire, or a commitment to get fully vaccinated within 45 days of hire.
