SHIPPING COORDINATOR!!! JOB SUMMARY: The Customer Support Specialist is responsible for communicating customer requirements to the organization. This includes coordinating shipments and recording customer feedback. The Customer Support Specialist reports to the Supply Chain Manager and works closely with the inside sales, operations, planning, production, and quality personnel to ensure products are delivered to customer expectations. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Arrange shipping and logistics to deliver products to customers for all districts on or before the agreed-upon due date. 2. Coordinate shipments with FedEx, UPS, FedEx LTL, Saia LTL, 3rd party companies, National and International. 3. Create and organize all required shipping documents for all districts (bill of lading, pick lists, HazMat documentation, daily shipping board, etc.) 4. Serve as liaison between the customer support team, management, and customer to improve customer service and business productivity. 5. Upload vendor receipts and packing slips to ensure all information is correct for accounting to review and approve. 6. Prepare monthly and daily documents and reports. 7. Generate document packages for all outgoing shipments in the MRP system. JOB SPECIFICATIONS: Education: 1. High school diploma. Military or college degree preferred. Experience: 1. 1-3 years of shipping & logistics experience and customer service required. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 1. Must be customer focused and have excellent customer relations skills. 2. Must be detail-oriented and keep a meticulous record of shipment information. 3. Ability to work with MRP systems and a quick learner with new systems. 4. Negotiate shipping fees with couriers. 5. Good interpersonal and communication skills. 6. Must be professional and work well in a team. 7. Must be able to face stressful situations with professionalism. Working Conditions: 1. Schedule: typically, 8:00 – 5:00 Monday-Friday. Customer needs may require working outside typical hours, including early mornings, late nights, and some weekends. Must be available to respond to customer calls 24/7. 2. Most of each day is spent in an air-conditioned office environment with short durations spent on the production floor, which may be in an un-airconditioned warehouse environment. 3. PPE (safety glasses and steel-toe shoes) is required in certain shop floor areas per company safety policies. OTHER ISSUES: 1. This job description describes a general category of jobs.
