Mason for Repointing Fieldstone Basement Walls and/or painter/handyman

Jobs

Jefferson Avenue near Evergreen Avenue, New York City NY

Description

Roughly a week's work and I can finish the rest... The parging was held in by paint on one basement wall and was crumbling, and that wall shared with the backyard was leaking through old mortar in some spots. After maybe 50 plus hours of chiseling and pressure washing, I've largely cleaned out the parging, the failed mortar, and enough of the paint. Now looking to repoint the mortar while also filling in some gaps at the top where mortar might be coming through. Once this is completed I'd like to skimcoat and stain the concrete floor among other things. I will rent a concrete mixer for the mortar and will be working alongside you. Once this is complete there will be some basic finishing work. I have all major tools and many other minor tools and can purchase anything needed. I'd like to hide some pex and some electrical wires so basic plumbing electrical ability is a plus but not essential. I'm offering $25/hour cash for the masonry work and $20/hour for the painting/finishing work but receptive to a bit more for those who charge more and can prove they're worth it. Not interested in anyone coming to "bid" the work.
