Description
I have a head full of rock and roll riffs developing since Covid started up in 2020. Recently I have been working on some of them with another guitarist and bassist, and we're ready to add a drummer to get this thing off the ground and into proper band territory. Could it be you?
A bit more about me and what we're looking for:
Our goals are to make an album and play occasional shows in the area.
I mainly play guitar and sing (20+ years), but dabble in drums and bass as well so I can relate to a rhythm section.
I learn by imitation and ear, but have experience with formal singing.
I’ve been in successful local groups in the past and can provide references to back it up.
I've played many a show and have reliable gear, as well as a rehearsal/recording space in the works.
My sound is somewhere between the pop punk I grew up on and the classic/blues rock I listen to these days. Uptempo for the most part.
I don’t dabble with effects, just my guitar plugged in to a single channel amplifier to keep it rockin’.
My ideas are high energy and melodic. I love heavy riffs, but I also enjoy melody and a good hook. You typically won’t find odd time signatures, though I’m not opposed to getting weird at times to keep the listener guessing.
Now for the obligatory disclaimer:
I am a family man who’s nearly 40, and as such need to work with people who will respect my schedule and not waste our precious time by missing rehearsal, over partying, or having egos. That’s not to say I don't want to enjoy while we create, but I need to work with like minded people who are aiming to make something together and progress toward our goals. I’ve been in groups where everyone is not on the same page and I no longer have time or energy to waste. Above all I want to have fun, but a big part of that for me is being dedicated to our ambitions.
If this strikes a chord with you, please reach out and I can provide some of my riffs for your review.
