About:
Each session of this 6-week class will begin with a 30-minute contemplative practice The Arrow Tip of Confidence and Freedom. Then we will investigate the essential foundations of the Buddhist meditation tradition, examining the entire territory of Heart and Mind so that we can be more fully alive and less confused about the chaos in and around us.
Topics will include the upending and brilliant sanity of The Four Noble Truths—four simple, observable truths that show us the pattern of how our lives, loves, and dislikes naturally unfold; The Three Marks of Existence—how life does not necessarily provide us with what we want, and how we can get ourselves on the side of curiosity and resilience; The Four Reminders—how we connect with the preciousness and wakefulness of this life; and The Four Foundations of Mindfulness—how we craft our meditation practice so that it leads us to greater awareness and joy. This class is about how and why we invoke the practice of Awake!
