Description
I rescued this stray a couple of months ago. He was in poor shape and could barely walk, but he is doing much better now. I would keep him myself, but unfortunately he is HIV+ and I already have a bunch of kitties. I am hoping to find a home for him. He is very sweet, gentle and playful, but timid around strangers. He is uncomfortable when picked up, but he has gotten much better than what he was. He was a stray, so he is used to being around other cats. He actually led me to a sick kitten awhile back, so I think he would get along with other HIV+ kitties if introduced properly.
He is fixed. Currently, he is on antibiotics, but should be done within a couple of weeks. He does need someone to keep an eye on his feet in case they swell up again (he had pillow feet when I got him). Health-wise he is doing great. If you're unfamiliar with HIV, cats with this virus can still live for many years. Ideally, they should be kept indoors. It's recommended that they have a vet check twice a year vs. just one.
He is currently in Herrin, IL. I am open to traveling up to an hour if need be.
