Join us on Monday, January 16, 2023 for the 29th Annual Unity Sports MLK Breakfast program celebrating the theme, “The Indomitable Spirit of African Americans: Past, Present and Future".
Dr. King advocated the principle of non-violent protest, affirming that opposition should be tackled with compassion rather than aggression. In his personal style of resistance and in his persistent quest toward an equal and just society, Dr. King demonstrated an indomitable spirit.
Join us for our annual community-wide Breakfast Program featuring healthy breakfast options, fellowship, entertainment and a dynamic panel discussion exploring the theme. The discussion will be moderated by Dr. Shaniece Criss, Associate professor, Furman University.
Panelists include:
Dorris Wright - one of the Greenville eight who integrated the Greenville County Library
Michelle Vesey - a direct descendant of Denmark T. Vesey
Stacey Mills - Executive Director, Racial Equity and Economic Mobility (REEM) Commission
Reginald B. McKnight - Head of Global Social Impact, Google
This Special event will be hosted by Kimberly E. Springle, Historian and Cultural Preservationist, GTMS Legacy Enterprises.
The Event is FREE and Open to the Public. Doors Open at 8:30am.
