Bordando Nuestras Raíces and Spanish Town Heritage Foundation invite you to a Dia De los Reyes Magos (Three Kings Day) celebration this Saturday, January 14th from 11:00am-1:00pm at the Historic Trujillo Adobe (3669 Center Street Riverside, CA). . This year’s event will feature a FREE toy distribution to the families in attendance on a first come, first serve basis sponsored by Catalyst Cares. Join us for traditional activities that will also be hosted on-site including crafts, story time, piñatas, Kings Day Bread and refreshments. About Dia de Los Reyes: Día de Los Reyes is celebrated on January 6 to honor the Three Wise Men. This holiday represents the day the Three Wise Men (Los Tres Reyes Magos) gave gifts to Jesus Christ, and the day closes the Christmas festivities. Children in Latin America and Spain receive the majority of their gifts from the Three Kings, rather than from Santa Claus at Christmas. Before going to bed on January 5th, the children place their old shoes with a wishlist on top for the Three Kings. On the morning of the 6th, the shoes are filled with toys and gifts from the Three Kings!
