Weigh-Tec is recruiting an Industrial Scale Technician. Weigh-Tec Inc., is a family-owned Industrial Scale Business whose service department provides calibrations, repairs and installations in Decatur AL and across the Tennessee Valley. Our customer-focused team builds positive, lasting relationships by providing timely, quality calibrations that meet the standards of ISO/IEC 17025:2017 along with honesty and integrity. Experienced technicians will assist with training/mentoring apprentice technicians through on-the-job training. Applicant must have a general knowledge of ac/dc electricity, diagnosis and repair, intelligent use of voltmeter, have a Class A CDL for operating test trucks, be self motivated, a fast learner, ability to work professionally, alone or as a team member and have a clean driving record. Responsibilities Safely travel to customer's site, in company vehicles, while maintaining all traffic laws to do routine maintenance and calibration of industrial scales Fill out and maintain calibration data using a tablet Ensure all company equipment used is clean and maintained at top performance ability Intelligently and professionally speak to customers about their weighing needs and communicate issues that may need to be repaired or addressed Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical and/or electrical problems with the scale Perform repairs after diagnosis is made Neat, legible and orderly hard copy paperwork and/or electronic paperwork Skills Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods Working knowledge of power and hand tools Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills Ability to lift 50 lbs and climb stairs Ability to work in an industrial environment while still maintaining safety at all times Positive attitude and eagerness to learn is a must Valid Class A driver license and clean driving record must be maintained throughout employment Benefits If you are mechanically inclined and have strong communication skills, we invite you to send us your resume for this position.
