seeking superb classical bass player

Meets

925 Virginia Avenue near West End, Lancaster PA

Description

Seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, collaborative, classically-trained, improvising, acoustic bass player in the Lancaster, PA area for: Friday night services at Temple Beth El in Lancaster, tentatively once per month. These pay $50/service. A nice regular gig. Soundtrack for a promotional video ($100 per service). A concert of music by Jewish composers, still in the planning stage (including funding). Further performances. Wild experimentation. Although every effort will be made to find funding, we would prefer someone who is willing and able to get together to read through material and experiment for the art. I am a classically-trained violinist with extensive orchestral, chamber music, and improvisation experience in both Europe and the United States (e.g. former concertmaster Harrisburg Symphony). I am working with a superb percussionist, an exceptionally sensitive musician, rooted in West-African drumming, with enormous performance experience in Nashville and Chicago. We are both enthusiastic and we want to perform. Money is always good, but the art is more important. We are looking for long-term collaboration. The combination of violin, bass, and hand drums is a magical three-legged stool. Do you find this intriguing? Contact me.
