Depending on what position you are looking for, we offer anywhere from $12 - $40 an hour based on experience and how quickly you learn and work. We offer paid training. In order to work for our company, you need to pass several tests (within 90 days of employment) and be able to lift over 100 lb logs for several hours daily when needed, arrive early everyday, and have a positive, team oriented mindset. As part of the hiring process, you will be expected to work a trial/placement week at $12 an hour unless your skills and abilities can be verified. Level 1 Groundsman: This is an introductory position to tree work. In this position you will be learning the basics of being a part of a team in the tree industry; such as brush dragging, taking care of and maintaining chainsaws, and organization of the shop. This position is only available for the first 90 days of working for our team, after which the basics are learned and you are offered a mid level position with higher pay possibilities. Training is included and paid. Level 2 Groundsman: This position is offered only if level 1 requirements are passed and is considered a mid level position. In this position, you will be learning the basics of proper pruning techniques, how to work with rigging ropes, and how to take care of and run the chipper truck and chipper. You are in a training position that must be passed within 90 days of this position. Level 3 Groundsman: This position is offered only after all level one and level two groundsman tests have been passed. At this position, you know how to be an effective part of the team and will be able to keep up with the climber. You will accomplish this by knowing what needs to be done before the climber needs it and getting it done quickly. You know how to do everything effectively without making the climber wait. You are a key member of the team and you are paid accordingly. Climber: In this position, you must know how to take care of trees in a way that benefits both the customer and the tree. You must work quickly, safely, accurately, and effectively. You must work in pace with the groundsman. It is mandatory to wear safety gear and be tied in at all times. You must also make sure your cuts are beneficial to the tree and our reputation by not stripping, topping, or leaving stubs. All of this must be done effectively with the team and in a timely manner. When all climbing is done, you will help finish the job in any way needed. Crew Lead: This position is a leadership role. In this position, you are expected to be a team player. You make sure the team knows what its goals are each day and make it easy for them to accomplish those goals. In this position, you know how to be both a groundsman and a climber and you will help in whichever position is required for each job to run smoothly. You must know how to price work so you can add on to a job or give a neighbor an estimate. You must be able to communicate in a way that encourages the crew to succeed and encourages customers to trust us. You must be organized and energetic. You must make sure that all the employees' needs are taken care of, as well as the customers.
