About: Join Dallas Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation at Moody Performance hall on January 17, 2023 for the National Day of Racial Healing. Our Executive Director will be in conversation with Dr. Angela Davis as we seek to connect, build relationships, and bridge divides. Dr. Angela Davis has been deeply involved in movements for social justice around the world. Her work as an educator – both at the university level and in the larger public sphere – has always emphasized the importance of building communities of struggle for economic, racial, and gender justice. She is the author of ten books and has lectured throughout the United States as well as in Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia, and South America. Our community partner, Pan-African Connection will be on-site selling a variety of books authored by Dr. Davis. Following the conversation, join us in the performance hall lobby for a book signing. PLEASE NOTE: ONLY PURCHASES MADE THAT EVENING ARE ELIGIBLE FOR SIGNATURE. *** We are providing ASL Interpretation. Theatre doors close promptly at 7:30 PM. Guests will not be allowed entry once the conversation begins. Wristlets, clutch, or wallets 4.5''x6.5'' are allowed at all entrances. No backpack or large totes allowed. Medical bags and parenting bags are also permitted. The Lexus Red Parking facility is located on the north end of Jack Evans Street, below the Winspear Opera House. The Lexus Silver Parking facility is located below Moody Performance Hall, directly across (east) Jack Evans from the Wyly Theatre. About National Day of Racial Healing: Dallas Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation will host programming all day in honor of the National Day of Racial Healing. The National Day of Racial Healing is a time to contemplate our shared values and create the blueprint together for #HowWeHeal from the effects of racism. Launched on Jan. 17, 2017, it is an opportunity to bring ALL people together in their common humanity and inspire collective action to create a more just and equitable world.
