Description

The SAEMS monthly luncheon meetings are held on the last Wednesday of every month (except when otherwise announced). Every SAEMS luncheon features a keynote speaker on issues important to local businesses and spotlights some of our many professional and non-profit members. Meetings begin at 12:00 pm with networking, and lunch is served promptly at noon as the program gets underway. After the meal, there is additional time to network prior to the featured speaker's presentation. The meeting concludes by 1:00 pm. Your meeting fee not only covers your meal cost but funds SAEMS’ community involvement efforts as well as the SAEMS environmental student scholarships. We will be started the beginning of the year with two speakers. Our first speaker, MIchele Martinez will be discussing Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act (EPCRA)Tier II Reporting Overview. Section 312 of EPCRA requires covered facilities to submit a Tier II form to their State or Tribal Emergency Response Commission (SERC or TERC), Local or Tribal Emergency Planning Committee (LEPC or TEPC), and local fire department on March 1st of every year for the previous calendar year. Join us for an overview of EPCRA, how states and communities work with facilities to use the Tier II information to improve chemical safety and protect the public and the environment. Michele Martinez, Administrative Services Officer and State of Arizona Emergency Response Commission Coordinator has been with ADEQ Emergency Response Unit since 2019.
