Description
He did agree to some new procedures. They're not all new implementations though. The rule that a single member can challenge the Speaker's seat is not something new. It was always in place in the House until four years ago when the House Speaker (Nancy Pelosi) removed it. So, it's being returned. The 72-hour rule is actually being clarified. You wouldn't think that the House would need such a rule unless the previous Speaker was notorious for pushing massive bills to a vote without a chance to even read them. Just like the last $1.7Trillion bill, she's been quoted as saying "We'll have to pass it [the bill] to see what's in it." The rules having to do with debt ceilings and budgets stem from the Democrats' overspending. Again, the latest $1.7Trillion fiasco was forced through giving members only hours to read the 4,200-page bill. There was no explanation why, when democrats held the majority, the bill wasn't completed by its usual due date of September 30th other than to create a false sense of urgency to the American people. Remember how she said it was the republicans who were going to shut down the government? Pelosi had a full year to draft the bill and had the House majority to pass it with NO republican support, yet somehow it was the GOP's fault. The need for the rules and goals are to prevent what has been happening under the communists' control for the past years.
