Description

Yoga can release stress, increase flexibility and joint mobility, strengthen the body, and calm the mind. In gentle yoga, each movement is linked with the breath. The yoga postures are entered into gradually, by moving in and out of each pose first, and then finding a holding position. The focus is on safe and proper alignment, adaptability, moving at your own pace, and self acceptance. This four week series led by Mary Whidden is the perfect way to start the new year. Please bring your yoga mat and any props if you need to borrow a mat we have plenty at the center. Mary Whidden has been teaching yoga for over 25 years. She is a Certified Kripalu YogaTeacher, ACSM Personal Trainer, BS in Physical Education.
