Paranormal Access Returns to The Haunted Conover Square. This event sold out in record time last year and I know many of you missed out asking if I would offer another event here. Well here we are. We are offering another fun weekend getaway event to Oregon, IL. Investigations are inside and this is a small event of only 25 people max. There will be 5 groups with 5 people each, professionally guided by paranormal investigators from Bartels and Henson Paranormal Investigators. They have been doing tours and investigations here for years. What makes this date different then last years? They have added Two new locations to investigate this time. So we have 5 locations to investigate, instead of 4 and the smallest access groups yet. Join Chris Fleming and Bartel and Henson Paranormal in Oregon, IL as they take you through The Haunted Conover Square, a 200,000 square foot historical building rich with spirit activity. We will visit the town and haunted shopping center during the day, break up to spend time at the B&Bs (if you will be staying at any of them), and after dinner there will be an evidence show and tell by Bartels and Henson Paranormal and Chris Fleming, then we break into groups and ghost hunt at night! There are also other activities you can do as well while in Oregon, IL (see list at bottom). Where to stay? There is a bed and breakfast Patchwork inn that is a block away (walking distance) and is actually haunted. I had two remarkable experiences there last year. First hearing a stage coach the middle of the night. Horse hoofs on bricks and the sound of a wooden cart pulling up to the hotel. The next morning, there was a quarter that apported manifesting on my suitcase as I was checking out. The coin was face up with a tree, representing the tree of life. Which Ironically, was mentioned via ITC the night before during the investigation. If interested, you can book a room to stay here at the B&B Saturday night, or come up and stay friday and sat night. I wil be staying there Saturday night. I enjoyed this place. There are only 8 rooms currently available, so do call them and book asap before they are gone. Conover Square is an old piano factory built in the 1890s. While this historic building serves as a shopping mall, there has been many different paranormal encounters reported, including; A girl’s spirit giggles in the hallways and museum. Loud crashes boom from an unoccupied third floor, and some say there is a presence of a man in the south hallway. Shopkeepers have shared stories of a “lady in white,” who enters stores, but is never seen exiting. Another shopkeeper watched a man do the same thing. Unexplained sounds, such as hearing a gate open, knocks, cries, growls and the occasional piano notes. Some guests have reported touches, cold spots or breezes and tugs on clothing.There is no definitive history of Conover Square. Much of what is known is anecdotal, hearsay, or just research. A file at the Oregon Public Library is quoted in several articles as a source, but the actual information there is more like reminisces of former workers than historical facts. What is known is that the building, now known as Conover Square, was built over the span of about 20 years. The south wing is the oldest section, built in the early 1890s. The order of construction toward the end is murky, but it’s safe to say that by about 1910 the footprint of the building is fairly close to what is seen today. Until about 1970, pianos were manufactured under the name of Schiller, Conover, Cable, and many others before demand slowed enough to force the factory’s closure. The factory reopened for a short time in the early 1970s for a limited production of baby grand pianos, but soon closed again. In the mid-1970s, the vacant building was purchased and most of the first two main floors were converted into a shopping village. A walk through the halls today still reflects an old-world style to the storefronts that reflect this concept. There are mysteries surrounding the area and a goal of ours at this event is to find out who, or what truly haunts the Conover Square. THE SCHEDULE for Saturday, February 4th : This event offers a Daytime walk opportunity around the town and shopping center, dinner gathering (optional) and then a mini Evidence Show and Tell presentation and the Ghost Hunt at night at Conover Square. With an after hours ghost hunt on your own. Access to this event is strictly Limited to only 25 tickets that will be broken down into 5 groups of 5 people being led by a tour guide for each group. Other events have had 10-25 people in each group. This is a welcome opportunity for a more personal investigation, smaller group investigation. You can choose the people for your groups. Conover Square is located at: 201 N. 3rd St., Oregon, IL. 61061. It is open from 10am-5pm on Saturdays. Schedule times may change slightly, final schedule will be messaged to you day before event. 2:00 PM - Walk around Town. We will meet at Conover Square and start there, walking around inside the shops. We will then walk around the town and then everyone is free to do what they like or gather at the B&Bs before dinner. If not to cold, we may visit the BlackHawk Statue as well, or plan something Sunday morning for those who stay the night*. TBD 5pm - 6:15pm - Check into hotels, or if not staying the evening feel free to continue walk around town or nearbye sites. For those staying at Patchwork Inn there will be a Brief history from Owner and Spirit Communication with Chris Fleming at Patchwork Inn in the basement. *Still working this out with owner if we can have entire group sit in on this. 6:30 PM - 8 PM - Dinner at Blackhawk steak pit , 1429 IL-2, Oregon, IL 6106, (815) 732-2500. This is a cowboy style Steakhouse ... - You are welcome to join us. Dinner is not included in ticket price. VIP passess will be handed out during this time for all who attend the dinner. 8:00 PM Check in / Arrive at Conover Square. 8:15 PM-9:30 PM Evidence presentation and vender stands of items for sale. We will all meet in the large parking lot on the north side of the building at the start time inside. Where it says Conover Square in faded Red lettering. This is where we will also take a group photo if it is not to cold out, otherwise we will take our group photo inside. Check in & receive Paranormal Access badges if not received already from dinner.Access to 2 Vender tables to purchase any items from Bartels and Henson / Chris FlemingStart with a Presentation by Bartel and Henson Paranormal & Chris Fleming around 8:45pm. 9:20pm Group PhotoGroups - Break down into 5 groups. 5 groups will have a tour guide taking them to each location. The locations are inside, but if you need to walk to the car or around town have one with you. Bathrooms: There are bathrooms on premisis. PARKING: Parking outside around building where Entrance is. Cancellations: If event needs to be cancelled by promoter or location due to emergency, tornados, severe thunderstorms or disaster, or if shopping center shuts down due to COVID, all tickets purchased will be rescheduled or refunded.
