During this workshop class... instructor Antonia will show you teach you the skills to create custom-sized, beautiful macramé plant hangers. Participants will learn to tie two different macramé knots (square and spiral) and how to integrate a plant pot to hang successfully. This workshop does not require previous knowledge about macramé--if you are looking for inspiration and the skills to make personalized gifts for family and friends, or if you want to engage in a relaxing hobby that brings you joy, this class is for you! Participants are encouraged to... bring their own pot -or- purchase a pot from the shop to customize their macrame plant hanger. Workshop participants are also eligible for a 10% off discount towards plant and pot purchases from the shop at the end of the workshop. Participants will leave with... one macramé hanger that will include a wooden ring + optional wooden beads and skills to make future macramé hangers. All macramé plant hanging materials will be provided by workshop host. About Antonia... Antonia Lara Sanchez is a trained industrial designer with a BFA from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Valparaiso, Chile. She considers herself as a multidisciplinary artist who focuses on storytelling and empowering the Latine community through graphic design, photography, embroidery. She also ties her childhood joys of gardening and sports by creating macrame plant hangers with recycled sports balls. For the past five years Antonia has worked as an artist and design educator in Providence, RI and most recently in Oakland, CA. About Planterday... Planterday is a mission-driven plant shop dedicated to destigmatizing mental health and promoting mental health resources.
