Tree Buds Citizen Forester Training Program is sponsored by the Alamo Forest Partnership and the San Antonio Arborists Association with support from Bexar Branches Alliance. The goal is to teach citizens the basics of proper tree pruning for young trees and essential tree care in order to supplement the San Antonio Parks and Recreation Department’s tree planting initiatives. This event will consist of hands-on pruning practice next door at Palo Alto Park. The content will cover information about our urban tree canopy, current threats to the health of our canopy, proper pruning practices, and instructions on how to properly handle and use the tools of the trade. Registration is free.
