Kindergarten Session Learn how to use the Letterland Kindergarten Teacher’s Guide, character letter-sound stories, alphabet and handwriting songs, placement and progress monitoring assessments, and all the instructional materials that come with the Letterland program.
Overview
Letterland's child-friendly Kindergarten curriculum introduces teaching strategies for building phonological awareness, letter sound correspondence and blending & segmenting skills. This session provides an overview of the Kindergarten curriculum with emphasis on delivering whole group instruction as well as differentiation through small group and intervention strands. Teachers are introduced to interactive lesson plan activities that progress from Phonemic Fast Track to a-z wordbuilding then to onset and rime, consonant blending and more advanced spelling patterns.
Course consists of 2 sessions and a pre-work assignment which will be sent upon receipt of registration. Pre-work must be completed prior to attending training.Please have your Kindergarten Teacher's Guides Vol.1 & 2 available to use during each training session.If you have any questions about the content of this training, please email [email protected].
Onsite Training
This training is face-to-face, please make sure you arrive at the location at least 15 mins before the session is due to start.
Certificate & Hours
Start time: 8:30am - 11:30am [EDT]Lunch break: 11:30am - 12:30pm. Afternoon session: 12:30pm - 3:30 pm. All attendees will receive a Letterland Certificate of Completion for 6 hours, after the course is completed. Please note that School districts have different requirements for hours, you should check with your district to ensure this will count towards your professional development hours.
