This is a safe and creative space for black women to come together to heal and uplift each other. As we create art in a calm yet spirited environment, we will open up discussions about resources to help us with mental & physical health . If you are an entrepreneur, health care worker, etc please feel welcome to share your practice so we can support each other. Together Cree will guide you through creating a customized painting of "I Love My Roots" African Hair Painting (See Below) Here are a few optional journal prompts you're welcome to work on before the event and discuss during the workshop. I understand these topics are personal so please understand it is OPTIONAL to discuss: 1. Love - How do you define "love"? Have you experienced obstacles surrounding love from being an African American woman? How can we as black women we grow more love for ourselves? 2. Environment - How do you feel about your current environemnt? What does your environment say about you? Are there things you want to change about your environemnt? What about your envirnment are you gratwful for? 3. Accountability & Forgiveness - How do you approach taking accountability for your own actions? What bout when others do/don't take accountability their own? Is it always safe to express foregiveness? How can we forgive when we never rexieve closeure or apologies? 4. Healing - This word has been thrown around a lot late, but what does it actually mean and feel like? What does "healing" mean to you? Is healing linear; is there an end goal? Do you think society encourages self improvement and healing for black women? How can the community do better in futhering growth and healing? ***All ages are welcome to join but we encourage painters to be 12+ ***Doors open 5 - 10 minutes prior to the event. Please do NOT come earlier Below is the sketch of the "I Love My Roots" painting we will create and make our unique artoerk on. Each canvas will be sketched prior to the event, BUT if you want to create something different, here are some ideas below: We look forward to seeing you soon! Have fun journaling until we meet!
