This exciting event is made possible through the challenging work of the Jacksonville Sister Cities Association, Inc. (JSCA) Yingkou and Shaoxing, China committees. JSCA helps enhance Greater Jacksonville through a variety of business, cultural, educational, informational, professional, and trade exchanges between its twinned cities. Our mission promotes "Peace Through People,"; and we understand the importance of building cultural awareness. JSCA consistently strives to achieve this while our members aim to educate the youth about Mutual Respect, Understanding, and Cooperation – one individual, one community at a time. Plan to enjoy this unique day of enlightenment within a safe environment where all age groups are welcome to join us in fun interaction! You can bring your family and friends to appreciate the value of Chinese customs from residents within the beautiful cities of Yingkou and Shaoxing. You will learn: *The basics of the Chinese language along with some interesting facts about its hieroglyphs *How to properly brushstroke Chinese to write simple Characters and phrases in beautiful calligraphy *Tying Chinese knots *Making Chinese lanterns A detailed workshop schedule is available on jsca.org/events.
