Well, I got flagged for my last post concerning this issue. So, let’s just call this one: Getting underpaid for your project It seems some bands in this city are getting underpaid for their performances, and it affects the rest of us. When you play a venue for $ 400, it makes it tougher than n the rest of the bands in town to make a decent wage. If you book a low paying job just to make it look good on your calendar, the venue thinks all the other bands should perform for the same moneys. Bands have been turned away from very nice venues because they won’t perform for such a low wage. A lot of bands have worked very hard for a very long time to make decent money, I’m not saying some bands don’t work as hard, but, it would be like me coming to your day job and undercutting you just to get your job.
