It's traditional to swear an oath of office on a Bible, but historically, other sacred texts have been used. But newly elected congressional demos decide to be swearing in their oath to just 'things'. As an example, Demo U.S. Representative for California's 42nd Congressional District, Robert Garcia on the most expensive a Superman comic book worth over 5.3 million. What purpose does this serve other than make a mockery of the solemnity of their oaths of office? None to those who never intend to uphold their oaths anyway. It is shown that Democrats really were never much for tradition (other than wildly irresponsible spending and social disruption).
