Fire cider is a traditional immune-supporting remedy with deep roots in folk medicine (but most popularly championed by herbalist Rosemary Gladstar). At its most basic, it’s a zesty infused vinegar, packed with powerful immune-boosting, anti-inflammatory, anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and circulatory herbs. The addition of hot peppers and a little local honey makes it both spicy and sweet, hence the name. This pungent concoction steeps for a minimum of 7 days and a maximum of 18 months to create medicinally powerful, tangy and hot medicine. The herbal tonic is known to increase immunity, help with digestion, and warm you up on a cold day! In this workshop not only will you be given all the materials to make your own 32oz jar of fire cider to take home but this in this particular workshop we will be adding pomegranates and hibiscus to our batches. This is a seasonal flavor of fire cider I do in the winter time! In this workshop you will also learn about the medicinal properties of each of the ingredients we use to make the fire cider.
