Description

NestWatch is a citizen-science project of the Cornell Lab of Ornithology to track and assess the reproductive health of bird populations across the country. In our region, this project is intended to help Prothonotary Warbler populations grow and thrive in spite of habitat loss due to development in prime nesting locations. Rural Action has been a partner in this project since 2017 and wants to invite more people to become involved. The orientation will be held at Rural Action's Kuhre Center for Rural Renewal from 4:30-6:00pm. Anyone that is involved in the project currently, may want to become a new volunteer, or just wants to learn more is welcome to attend. Rural Action's Joe Brehm will lead the workshop along with Dan Vorisek and current NestWatch volunteers. You can learn about other Prothontary Warbler reserach at this link.
