Description

Make a New Year's Resolution to learn how we have become mired in “alternative facts” and falsehoods and what we can do about it at the LWVAC's New Year's Luncheon. We will kick off our first in a series of programs on “Misinformation and Disinformation” with a lunch catered by 2Shea at the Italian American Community Center on Saturday, January 28. Our guest speaker will be Jordan Carleo Evangelist who is the Director of Communications at the University at Albany and a former Times Union reporter. Questions and discussion will follow. Guests are invited to share an outstanding story of misinformation and/or disinformation. There will be a fisherman’s award for the most egregious “tall tale.” This event is open to members and the public. Tickets are $39 if reserving and purchasing via Eventbrite, or $35 if you mail a check to LWVAC, PO Box 611, Slingerlands NY 12159 and indicate you are registering for the luncheon.Luncheon MenuFresh Lemonade & Iced Tea Station; Regular & Decaf Freshly Brewed Coffee & Hot Tea StationVegetarian Soup & Oyster Crackers Deluxe Salad Bar: Fresh Mixed Greens, Cucumbers, Tomatoes, Carrots, Onions, Walnuts, Dried Cranberries, Blue Cheese Crumbles.
