After years of planning, the revitalization of Main Street in Westhampton Beach broke ground in 2019. Shortly after, the village began work on a multi-million dollar sewer project. The renewed Main Street, complete with new streets, wider sidewalks, traffic calming roundabouts, new landscaping and planings, was by all accounts a resounding success, bringing droves of new visitors to the destination village.
The sewer project, completed this year, will do even more to heighten the tourist economy, allowing for more bars and restaurants, a new hotel and second-floor housing -- and cleaning up the bay to boot! What was the village's formula for success? After years of debate, what was the key to getting the sewer project accomplished.
