Join this meet-up for families with babies 0-3yrs. Meet and connect with other families raising bilingual babies. We'll have guests from Bilinguistics Speech Language Services, just down the street from Mi Casa Es Tu Casa at 1505 W. Koenig Lane. They'll discuss the myths surrounding early childhood bilingualism. Hear directly from bilingual speech language pathologists about the difference between fact and fiction when it comes to raising a bilingual child. You'll even have to chance to have your own short screening and ask a few questions about your family. Families with advanced/native Spanish who are raising bilingual children are encouraged at this meet-up. 10am - Arrive & Gather 10:25am - Group introductions led by Mi Casa Es Tu Casa® staff. 10:30 - Presentation & activity led by speech language pathologists from Bilinguistics. 11am - Free time for parents to connect in Spanish and babies to crawl, toddle, and play. We'll put out age-appropriate instruments and toys for exploration. You'll have time to meet briefly with a speech language pathologist for a free screening if you'd like! This event is donation-based (pay-what-you-can) and is limited to 20 families, please get your ticket ahead of time. Mask optional. What to expect: Please leave car seats & strollers outside of the building. Our space has a communal play area in the entryway where drinks and snacks are welcome. Our classroom, where we will be, has child-friendly matts. Adults must wear socks in the room and snacks and drinks are not allowed.
