MOMS-AGAINST-GUN-VIOLENCE Is a grass roots not-for-profit organization registered in the State of Virginia and operate throughout the Nation. At all times relevant to gun violence we stand together with communities to heal, rebuild and be vigilant towards non-sense gun violence that plague our inner cities every day. According to the Gifford Law Center gun homicide and assaults disproportionately impact historically underserved communities of color. Black American are four times more likely than white American to be killed in gun homicide. In addition, to millions of inmates on death row for committing fire arm relating crimes including murder, armed robbery, theft, and burglary. The death penalty process is very costly, which imposes a additional $700,000 more to seek the death penalty than not seeking death penalty. Million of innocent inmates are facing life in prison or death penalty for crimes not related to capital offenses such a murder. Currently, more than 200,000 people are serving life sentence in U.S. prison and most is locked in state correctional facilities. Lifers are people who are sentence to life in prisons without the possibility of parole. The vast majority of inmates are people of color about 30% are 55 and older. We are seeking volunteers to sign our petition to reduce Federal sentencing guidelines for young first time felony offenders of non-violent crimes. The money government would save by reducing the population of people serving life sentencing instead could be invested in mental health services, restorative supporting services and holding people accountable for crimes with empathy and compassion rather than capital punishment, especially if they are not a public threat, danger and menses to society.
